What is the difference between flat maps, folded maps and atlases?

• Flat maps are usually rolled up in a tube and have no folds at all; they are suitable for framing or pinning to a wall/board.
• Folded maps are, unsurprisingly, folded up and often have a card cover.
• Atlases are books of maps. Popular examples include world atlases and road atlases.
