I have been asked for a customs charge!
When we post your order internationally, we complete all customs documentation as accurately as we can. Sometimes, however, you will be asked for a customs charge by the authority in your country. When this happens, this is beyond our control.
Our new relationship with the European Union means that our EU and EEA customers are seeing these charges more frequently than they used to. These charges seem to be imposed at random, so we don't know exactly if and when you will be charged.
If you refuse the charge, you order will return to Stanfords. This may take many weeks and we will contact you when it returns to us to arrange a refund. We can't refund your delivery costs, however, so we suggest that you think carefully before refusing the charge.
